After hearing about the positive impact Contact the Elderly has on their local community, keen walkers Will and Gregg have decided to take on their biggest challenge yet and walk 190 miles across Scotland to raise funds for their local group in Thurrock.
Gregg first started walking after being inspired by his dad and together they joined the Long Distance Walking Association. Then 6 years ago, his business partner Will decided to get involved. The two began walking together for charity and have now raised over £7,000 for various organisations. Gregg says to prepare for the walks they try to get out at least once every two weeks, walking anything between 10 and 26 miles, and that whilst it’s challenging they can’t seem to stop,
“Long distance walking is hard, but addictive. Nothing beats the thrill of finishing the route. Especially when you remember that the money you’ve raised could really change someone’s life.”
Supported by our wonderful team in Scotland, Will and Gregg are now over halfway through their journey. We are delighted that they chose to walk on behalf of Contact the Elderly and wish them the best of luck in completing the course.
