South Wales celebrate and launch another group

In December, the large Hall at St German in Cardiff hosted another seasonal lunch party, enabling more than 100 people from Contact the Elderly groups to enjoy a few hours together. Older guests, volunteers and staff members enjoyed a good meal in spacious surroundings, cooked and served by volunteers and accompanied by live music.
Contact the Elderly’s South Wales Development Officer, Marion Lowther, helped by volunteer Kate Housley, made the arrangements and gained the necessary physical and financial support.
Groups from Cwmbran, Newport, Penarth, Cardiff and Bridgend greeted the new group from Caerphilly having its first party. Paul and his band provided music and led the singing, which was thoroughly enjoyed.
Mary Robinson, Executive Officer covering Wales and The North of England, represented Mary Rance, CEO, and the newly appointed Wales Support Officer, Sian Llewellyn, made herself known to the groups she will be supporting.
Thanks are due especially to all those who helped, and Tesco, the South Wales Classic Car Club, the Local Freemasons Lodge and Lloyds TSB Asset Finance, for their generous support in making the day a huge success.
