Project Manager/Events Manager

The role:

Contact the Elderly is seeking a Project Manager/ Events Manager  on an interim basis to manage a large scale event ( concert and fundraising dinner) to be held at St Paul’s Cathedral on 29th October to celebrate the charity’s Golden Jubilee.  Based at the National Office in Victoria, London, reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Jubilee Campaign Manager;  the role is for a fixed period of two months .

Responsibilities will include:

  • All event management, including venue and supplier liaison.
  • Sponsor logistics.
  • Financial and budget handling.
  • Guest management- guest lists, dietary requirements and ongoing queries.
  • Table planning.
  • On site management of the event on the night.


  • Previous experience of managing events or large projects.
  • Ability to deal with senior public figures, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • A “can do” attitude.

This is an urgent requirement, so ideally the successful candidate will be able to start fairly immediately.


c£25,000 per annum, pro rata.

Hours of work:

21 hours per week.
