Stars of Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks took part in a charity cricket match to raise money for Contact the Elderly.
Lime Pictures, who produce the daily soap, chose Contact the Elderly at their charity of the year, meaning we are to benefit from a year’s worth of fundraising efforts.
The star-studded team was headed up by captain Nick Packard, a long-standing star of Hollyoaks and the opposing team were made up of members of the public and performers from the Malpas Festival XI.
The charity cricket match was their first fundraising effort of their year and we are looking forward to more events throughout the year to raise awareness of what we do.
Contact the Elderly aims to eradicate loneliness and social isolation amongst our older generation. We do this through a simple but effective solution: free, monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties.
We rely on support from fundraisers to help us reach more isolated older people and extend a lifeline of friendship to them.
