Contact the Elderly has appointed its first Head of Service with sole responsibility for Wales to oversee our work in the country. Our new Head of Service - Wales will be Sian Llewellyn, who has been our Support Officer there since 2014.
Sian is well known to volunteers and older guests alike across Wales and we are excited about her taking on this new role and accelerating our work across the country.
'I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to continue the great work of Contact the Elderly in Wales, working with and supporting colleagues as well as all our amazing volunteers,' says Sian.
'I am also excited about the next four years and the potential to reach and help more isolated older people here in Wales.'
This is a new role which has been created thanks to generous funding from The Big Lottery Fund. They have awarded a grant with the objective of developing 49 new groups in Wales over the next four years. This will enable us to extend the reach of our service across Wales into new and distinct geographical areas. We will be working with other organisations across Wales to support the development of these groups.
Contact the Elderly is dedicated to delivering our unique service to as many isolated older people as possible. Vital funding allows us to reach communities we have never worked in before while continuing to support our existing groups.
