Summer is coming and we have the perfect way for you to get fit and raise money to tackle loneliness and isolation amongst older people.
Contact the Elderly has 12 places allocated for The British 10k London Run which takes place Sunday July 10th.
The event is described as ‘‘the UK's most prestigious and sought-after 10km road race which is staged on the world's greatest route through the heart of central London.’’
We would be delighted to see people completing the course on behalf of Contact the Elderly. We are looking for each participant to raise a minimum of £250. We will support you every step of the way and the more money you raise, we can help more isolated older people.
One of our most successful fundraisers this year was Mollie, and she shared her fabulous fundraising tips for us which you can read here.
This type of event is perfect for runners who are working themselves up to completing larger courses like half marathons. Also, if you’d like to take part with a group of friends then you can indulge in some light-hearted competition!
Famous landmarks you’ll see along the way include London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben, 10 Downing Street and much more. You can learn more about the route at www.thebritish10klondon.co.uk
If you would like to run on behalf of Contact the Elderly, please email Gemma.firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note deadlines for entries are 4 June – so don’t delay!
